Areas
Areas represent fixed locations where maintenance or inspection work may be carried out. Examples include buildings, dams, workshops, or laydown areas. Areas help organise and track work that is not linked to a specific piece of equipment but still requires attention or resources.
Unlike assets, which represent individual machines or vehicles, areas describe places within your operation. Work Orders can be created directly against an area to record maintenance activities such as structural inspections, lighting repairs, or site clean-ups.
Area records contain a small set of essential details—typically a code, description, and cost centre, making them quick and easy to set up. This simple structure keeps your maintenance system organised while still allowing full tracking of work, labour, and costs at a location level.
Using areas alongside assets provides a complete picture of all maintenance activity across both equipment and site locations.
