Release Notes
1 August 2025
This update focuses on improved App availability, better organisation of templates, enhanced form workflow options and several upgrades to asset importing and work order handling. These changes aim to streamline day to day work, improve communication and support upcoming component management features.
App Improvements
- General updates after extensive internal and user testing to fix bugs and improve menu and screen flow.
Templates Menu
- Task templates have been moved to a new Templates menu.
- This new menu will also house BOMs and centreline models in the future.
- The change provides a more intuitive location for template based configuration rather than placing it under work management.
Email Groups
- Email groups can now be created under Reference Tables -> Users and Groups.
- Groups may include both Samurai users and external email addresses which allows forms and reports to be distributed outside the system if required.
- These groups will support automated form distribution in future workflows.
New Form Action – Email Completed Form
- A new form action has been added allowing users to email a completed form directly to an email group.
- When this action is added to a form, the user selects which email group should receive the form report.
- This feature supports organisations that require automatic distribution of completed forms.
PDF Form Generation Improvements
- Form PDF generation now runs on the backend for improved performance and reliability.
- When a form is completed, the system automatically generates a PDF report, saves it to storage and records the link against the form.
- If an email action is configured, the system sends the PDF link to the selected email group.
- Export PDF now retrieves the stored report rather than rebuilding it each time.
- Reopening a form and saving it again generates a new PDF which replaces the previous one.
Asset Import Improvements
- The asset importer now supports Manufacturer and Class fields using the extended template.
- If an uploaded asset references a group that does not yet exist, the importer will create the group automatically before adding the asset.
- Group images are now copied across to new assets when available which helps maintain consistency in asset visuals.
Component Linking Improvements
- If a work order includes a task with a Component Change Out type, it will now display an indicator showing that it is linked to a component. This provides clearer visibility and supports future component management tools.
- When creating a manual work order, users can now link the work order to an asset task if one exists. This makes it possible to track work against tasks even when the work order was not automatically generated from the maintenance schedule.
These updates form part of ongoing preparation for upcoming component identification and management features.
