Work Orders
Work Orders are standardised documents that details the maintenance work to be performed. Work orders help you plan, assign, track, and record maintenance in a consistent and auditable way.
A work order includes details such as:
- Task information: what needs to be done and any specific instructions
- Asset or Area: which equipment or area the job applies to
- Priority and due date: to help schedule and manage workloads
- Assigned personnel: the technician or team responsible for completing the task
- Parts, labour, material and tooling requirements: what resources are required for the job
- Completion notes and photos: what was done, time taken, and any follow-up actions needed
Work Orders can be created manually, generated automatically from assets tasks or recurring maintenance schedules, or raised via work requests.
Once active, each work order moves through its lifecycle, open, in progress, and completed, giving you visibility over every stage of your maintenance process.
By managing work orders in Samurai, your organisation gains:
- Better control over maintenance planning and execution
- Clear visibility of work history and costs
- Consistent record keeping for compliance and audits
