Shift Log Events

Shift log events provide a clear summary of equipment downtime for the current shift. They help supervisors understand what went down, what came back online and what will need attention in the upcoming shift. Events shown in the shift log are drawn directly from the event system and are updated in real time.

Shift Down Events

Shift down events show all equipment that experienced downtime during the shift. This includes:

  • Equipment that is still down at the end of the shift
  • Equipment that returned to service within the last twelve hours

These events give the oncoming supervisor a complete picture of what issues occurred and which assets are still unavailable. By including equipment handed over in an In Progress state, supervisors can easily continue managing ongoing work without re investigating the issue.

Upcoming Events

Upcoming events show equipment scheduled to go down within the next twelve hours from the time the shift log was published. This allows the next shift to prepare for expected maintenance, operational delays or any planned activities that will affect equipment availability.

These upcoming events help supervisors manage crew planning, asset allocation and department workload. They also support smoother handovers as the next shift has early warning of equipment that may require action soon.

Why Events Matter in the Shift Log

Events in the shift log provide essential operational context, including:

  • Clear visibility of assets that went down during the shift
  • Awareness of equipment still unavailable at handover
  • Identification of assets that have recently returned to work
  • Early notice of equipment that is expected to go down soon

Together, shift down events and upcoming events give supervisors a full operational snapshot, supporting safer and more efficient handovers and ensuring that critical downtime information is not missed.
