Mobile App Quick Start Guide
The Samurai mobile app helps technicians and operators manage and complete maintenance work in the field.
This guide introduces the main areas of the app and what you can do in each.
Bottom Navigation
Use the icons at the bottom of the screen to access the main sections:
| Area | Description |
|---|---|
| Home | Quick access to common actions such as raising requests, recording breakdowns, or starting planned work. |
| Jobs | View and manage all your upcoming, in-progress, and completed work orders and events. |
| Requests | Create and review maintenance requests before they are approved as work orders. |
| Forms | Complete structured checklists, inspections, and workflows. |
| More | Access your account, change your password, and view reference data like assets, areas, and team members. |
Home
The Home screen is your main dashboard. From here, you can:
- Raise a Work Request for faults or issues
- Record a Breakdown for urgent maintenance
- Start or Join Planned Work
- Complete a Form such as an inspection or safety checklist
- Add a Meter Reading for asset usage
Most daily field work can be started directly from this screen.
Jobs
The Jobs screen lists all work orders and events assigned to you.
- Red items are breakdowns or unplanned work
- Green items are planned maintenance
Tabs at the top show:
- Pending – work to start soon
- In Progress – work currently underway
- Done – recently completed work
Forms
The Forms screen lets you complete structured tasks such as inspections or audits.
- New – start a new form
- In Progress – continue a form you’ve started
- Done – view completed forms
Forms guide you step-by-step and can include checkboxes, notes, and photos.
Work Requests
Use Work Requests to report issues that need review before becoming work orders.
Requests can include photos, descriptions, and priorities.
Supervisors can review, approve, or convert them into work orders.
Note: Some organisations skip requests and raise work orders directly.
More
The More screen gives access to:
- Profile settings – change your password or log out
- Reference tables – view lists of assets, areas, teams, and people
- Support – invite team members or contact Samurai Support
Use the Home and Jobs screens daily to manage your work. Use Forms and Requests to record activity and report issues. The More area gives you quick access to everything else you need on-site.
