Job Readiness

Samurai provides operational readiness controls to help planners and supervisors determine when a Work Order is ready to be executed by workshop or field personnel.

Work Orders include configurable readiness indicators including:

  • Job Ready status
  • Parts Ready status

The Parts Ready status can be updated:

  • Manually by planners or stores personnel
  • Automatically through the Samurai inventory module
  • Via integration with third-party inventory or ERP systems

This provides visibility of whether required materials and parts have been received, allocated, or are still outstanding.

The Job Ready indicator allows planners or supervisors to confirm that the Work Order is operationally ready for execution, considering factors such as:

  • Parts availability
  • Labour availability
  • Contractor coordination
  • Site access
  • Supporting documentation and forms

Within the mobile application and operational workflows, Work Orders not marked as Job Ready are filtered from technician views by default to reduce confusion and prevent premature execution of incomplete work scopes.

Where a Work Order is specifically assigned to a technician or operational user, it can still be made visible regardless of readiness status where required.
