This release makes work-order time recording available directly in the mobile workflow, extends that workflow to contractors, and improves forms, QR scanning, and contractor sign-in reliability.
Highlights
Record time from a work order
- Create or open a timesheet for a selected date without leaving the work order.
- Add, edit, and remove time entries associated with that work order.
- Review the work order's existing timesheets in the Results tab.
- Open submitted or otherwise locked timesheets in read-only mode, and reopen eligible timesheets for further editing.
- Continue working with locally cached and pending timesheet data when connectivity is limited; online results preserve the latest server summaries.
- Date selection prevents future-dated timesheets and supports moving between timesheet dates more reliably.
Contractor timesheets
- Contractors can now create, edit, submit, reopen, and review work-order timesheets from their assigned work.
- Contractor and tenant identity is carried through timesheet requests so entries are saved to the correct account and work order.
- Cached contractor timesheets remain available as a fallback when the network request cannot be completed.
Scan work-order QR codes
- The QR scanner now recognises Samurai work-order codes as well as asset codes and opens the matching work order.
- Work-order scans use offline-aware lookup, allowing locally available work orders to be resolved without a connection.
- Scanner feedback now distinguishes invalid, unsupported, asset, and work-order codes.
Stronger form photo and follow-up workflows
- Forms can require a successfully added photo before completion and can display a configured minimum-photo count.
- Controls are temporarily disabled while photos are being saved, preventing navigation or completion from racing an upload.
- Photos captured on a form are attached to notifications triggered by that form.
- A single form item can now create or link multiple work requests, while legacy single-work-request links can still be removed cleanly.
Better asset context in forms
- Asset-based form responses and pass/fail defects now retain the correct asset when saved.
- Notifications created from forms inherit the relevant asset more consistently.
- Contractor asset selection now includes assets belonging to child departments.
Work-order component details
- Work orders now include fields for the serial or component fitted and the serial or component removed, helping teams record component changes alongside the job.
Reliability and usability improvements
- Contractor magic links now work more reliably from the login screen, on warm iOS sessions, and after a cold launch.
- Contractor startup waits for a complete data sync, retries sync without reusing an exchanged magic link, and consistently downloads required base tables.
- Mobile sign-in, API, and token-refresh requests now identify themselves as Samurai mobile traffic for more reliable client-specific authentication handling.
- Form saving and completion are protected against stale responses, duplicate completion requests, and asset-header save races.
- QR camera permission handling was improved on both platforms, including refreshing permission after returning from device settings and clearer recovery guidance on Android.
- iOS display layering was corrected for QR scanning and timesheet date selection.
- Work-order navigation and refresh handling now ignore stale requests, reducing incorrect or duplicate screen transitions.
Platform updates
- Android now targets SDK 36.
- Android and iOS release versions are aligned at 1.8.7.
